Licensed Practical Nurse-Float Nurse - Family Practice Clinic

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Float Nurse, Family Practice (Full Time, Monday‑Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm)

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support the Family Practice team.

• Under the direction of an RN, assist with patient assessment by collecting data for RN analysis.
• Perform care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Document patient care provided.
• Assist RN with development of the plan of care.
• Help patients perform activities of daily living (personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Schedule appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtain insurance re‑authorizations for testing and scheduled procedures.
• Attend clinic meetings.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Report incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate actions.
• Complete safety instructional programs.
• Assist other team members when time permits.

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
• Current LPN/PN license to practice in Kentucky, in good standing with the Board of Health Professions.
• Basic CPR (BCLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
