Registered Nurse, Hematology & Oncology Clinic

Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) – Hematology & Oncology – Days.

Hours:

8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Full‑time, clinical setting. This role supports physicians and nursing staff in delivering direct patient care within a team‑oriented environment.

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
• Plans and implements care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
• Documents patient care provided, monitors and records patient condition, and communicates information to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Evaluates patient and/or family learning needs and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Reviews physicians’ orders for infusion treatment, prepares formatting for pharmacy team to order and administer medication per orders, and ensures correct infusion medication and schedule.

• Associate’s degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Kentucky.
• Experience in oncology and infusion orders preferred; training provided if needed.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and to thrive in a stressful environment.
• Detail oriented, independent, initiative, dependability, and accuracy essential.
