Contract Acute Care Registered Nurse – Cath Lab & CVICU
Location: Somerset, KY
Contract Type: Full-Time Contract
Residency Requirement: Candidates must live within 60 miles of the facility to qualify.
We are seeking highly skilled Cath Lab and CVICU Registered Nurses to join our partner facility in Somerset, Kentucky
. These contract roles are ideal for RNs who excel in high-acuity cardiac environments and are committed to delivering exceptional, evidence-based care. You'll work alongside a collaborative cardiovascular team dedicated to patient safety, rapid intervention, and strong clinical outcomes.
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures or recovering from critical cardiac events.
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cath Lab (e.g., angiograms, stent placements, pacemaker insertions).
- Manage hemodynamic monitoring, titration of critical drips, and advanced cardiac support in the CVICU.
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Respond rapidly to emergent cardiac situations and support post-procedure recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge planning.
- Uphold all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Must live within 60 miles of the facility to qualify for this contract role.
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent experience in Cath Lab or CVICU.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred).
- Strong critical thinking, cardiac assessment, and rapid-response skills.
- Experience with cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-procedure care.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
- CCRN, RCIS, or other cardiac specialty certifications.
- Experience in high-volume Cath Lab or advanced cardiovascular ICU settings.
- Familiarity with cardiac devices, post-op cardiac protocols, and advanced monitoring equipment.
- Full-time contract hours; shifts may include days, nights, weekends, or rotating schedules based on department needs.
