Position Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Float Nurse – Family Practice, Lake Cumberland Medical Associates. Full Time – Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network committed to improving community health.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of an RN, assess patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
- Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
- Administer medication as authorized.
- Document patient care provided.
- Assist RN in developing the plan of care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
- Schedule appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
- Obtain insurance re‑authorizations for testing and scheduled procedures.
- Attend clinic meetings.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Report all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action.
- Complete safety instructional programs.
- Assist other team members when time permits.
