Position Summary
Provides security services to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Essential Functions- Perform proactive monitoring and respond promptly to potential or actual security threats
- Investigate and manage all security incidents and hazards on hospital premises
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to policies regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness
- Facilitate drills and simulations for emergency preparedness
- Provide assistance and information to staff and visitors to promote safety
- Serve both internal staff and external customers, clients, and contractors
- Handle sensitive and/or confidential information
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Associate's degree or higher in any discipline preferred
- Service in active-duty military, reserves, National Guard, or auxiliary police/cadet programs preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable and successful security experience required
- Healthcare security experience preferred
- At least six (6) months of customer interaction experience preferred
- Current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to remain calm and take appropriate action in stressful situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication in English

- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands for handling equipment and computer tasks

- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Repetitive upper body motion for computer use
- Work is performed in a well-lit, climate-controlled hospital and office setting
- Exposure to hospital-related risks such as blood borne pathogens, contagious illnesses, chemicals, and biohazard materials
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required
