DescriptionThe Kentucky Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) is a multi-faceted agency that provides services and programs to enhance the self-sufficiency of families, improve safety and permanency for children and vulnerable adults; and engage families and community partners in a collaborative decision-making process. DCBS seeks a Case Management Specialist who is driven to succeed in helping people and advance family self-sufficiency.

The Case Management Specialist is a skilled team member, providing a vital link between children and families to public assistance programs. The employee is expected to perform at the highest quality to ensure services to the vulnerable citizens. This is a demanding position that requires maturity and self-discipline.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To- Interviews clients and applicants for Non-Magi Adult Medical/ Vendor Payment Program including State Supplementation.
- Collects, analyzes, verifies and maintains documentation provided
- Responds to email requests from chain of command.
- Completes assigned listings that include, but are not limited to, Address Match Reports, Pending App listings, Pending Disposition listings and Cola Listings.
- Schedules and completes medical review team (MRT) reviews as needed
- Responds to clients, authorized representatives and provider questions regarding programs, policy and procedures.
- Prepares for and attends hearings as assigned
- Participates in quarterly AMA regional meetings
Skills and Abilities
- Experience in social work, counseling providing direct services to individuals and/or families (i.e., employment services, community action agencies) or experience in reviewing, monitoring, determining eligibility for and/or administering Food Stamps, Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program, Medical Assistance, Child Support or other public assistance programs will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
