Transport Driver

Full time position with benefits!

$27.20/hr; OT eligible

Objective:

To deliver product from the processing plant to branches, stores and customer locations.

Description:

The transport driver hauls a load of product from the plant to branches, stores or customer locations. After arriving, the transport driver unloads the pallets of product (max 2500 lbs) using a pallet jack and places it in the cooler. Some locations may not have a dock system, thus requiring the load to be unloaded by hand, stacking cases onto a two-wheel cart and wheeled into the cooler.

On occasion the transport driver will be required to use a hook, to drag stacks of milk from trailer on to another trailer. Some customers' product is loaded on pallet carts, (max 800 lbs). The transport driver will be required to roll the pally carts off the trailer and into the customers cooler. Some other locations are called "drop trailer", because these trailers are unhooked and the empty trailer in the lot is hooked up and transported back to the processing plant.

All empty pallets, pallet carts and empty milk cases from all locations are loaded back onto the trailer and returned to the processing plant. The transport driver is responsible for delivering required paperwork and inter-company mail and returning it back to the processing plant.
