  • Position

    Purpose:

    Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers' products arrive on time and in good condition, and serve as the face of our company by building lasting customer relationships. The CDL‑A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, delivering and unloading food products in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Responsibilities:

    • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly.
    • Act as a team member within the department and organization and perform any assigned duties to best serve the company.
    • Conduct all required safety checks—pre‑and post‑trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations—and implement appropriate actions as needed.
    • Report all safety issues and required repairs.
    • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines and policies.
    • Immediately report safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
    • Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices of loaded products.
    • Complete all required freight paperwork accurately and legibly.
    • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as required.
    • Drive to, and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule.
    • Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
    • Conduct damage‑control checks on items, scan, and advise supervisor about removal of orders per company policy.
    • Verify delivery with customer and obtain proper signatures.
    • Collect money (cash or checks) where required; load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
    • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured at all times.
    • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring them to driver check‑in, and complete necessary paperwork; remove all equipment, materials, and trash from trailers as needed.
    • Record daily hours of service and enter them into log according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
    • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
    • At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all required paperwork.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma/GED
    • 12+ months commercial driving experience
    • Valid CDL‑A
    • Must be 21+ years of age
    • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
    • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
    • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check
    • Pass road test
    • Attain or hold a current DOT Health Card, or be able to secure a new one
    • Able to hand‑lift and use two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 pounds up to approximately 60–90 pounds, depending on location
