About the Role

Total Aviation Staffing is seeking an IFR Pilot for Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operations based in Somerset, Kentucky . This role offers the opportunity to combine advanced aviation skills with critical medical missions, providing life‑saving care in diverse environments. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform EC135 SPIFR/NVG operations following CAMTS guidelines.
  • Ensure safe and efficient 24‑hour operations, including day/night rotations.
  • Conduct pre‑flight and post‑flight checks in compliance with company standards.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of patients and equipment as required.
  • Support the Safety Management System (SMS) and company safety initiatives like Destination Zero .
Qualifications
  • Licenses and

    Certifications:

    • Commercial Helicopter License with Instrument Rating (ATP to be obtained within 12 months).
    • First Class Medical Certification.
  • Flight

    Experience:

    • 2,000 total hours (1,500 helicopter, 1,000 PIC helicopter, 500 turbine helicopter).
    • 100 hours unaided night operations or 50 hours unaided + 100 hours NVG.
    • 100 hours instrument time (actual & hood).
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must meet a body weight limit of 235 lbs .
    • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs for assisting with equipment and patient transport.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with EC135 aircraft , NVG operations, and EMS missions.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $50,000 .
