position title: site assistant - 21st century after school pal program

location: hubbell elementary school

reports to: director of teaching and learning

summary: to support and supervise school based sites and programming.

essential duties and responsibilities
  • take and input daily attendance and food service data.
  • supervise school-based site and programming daily.
  • attend monthly meetings and contribute to the monthly newsletter.
  • ensure all students are picked up daily following bps policy and procedures.
  • serve as a positive role model and advocate for students in the pal program.
qualification requirement

education and/or experience

bachelor’s degree preferred, experience in an educational setting or currently taking educational-related coursework.

demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in microsoft windows, microsoft excel, word and familiarity with accounting software.

language skills

ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

mathematical skills

ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

computer skills

familiarity with standard hardware and software applications. Ability to use computer for e‑mail, word processing, accounting, spreadsheet analysis, databases and presentations.

reasoning ability

ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

other skills and abilities

proficiency with microcomputer applications and office supervisory experience required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and board of education policies.
