• Demonstrates currency in Early Childhood Education.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of an elementary Kindergarten program.
• Frames curriculum around key learning standards and concepts, providing opportunities for reasoning, logic, analysis, and synthesis in planning units, lessons, and assessments.
• Maintains current knowledge of early childhood research and pedagogy, applying it to the instructional program.
• Contributes to ongoing evaluation of the Kindergarten program.
• Effectively plans instruction and assessment, monitoring students’ understanding and adjusting materials as needed.
• Manages classroom environment to create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Delivers instruction effectively, making learning goals clear and using varied instructional techniques.
• Employs a variety of teaching strategies (cooperative, peer, project-based, audio-visual presentations, lecture, discussion, inquiry, practice, application).
• Utilizes appropriate questioning techniques.
• Evaluates, experiments with innovative approaches, and refines instructional strategies, including effective use of technology to increase student learning.
• Promotes and communicates high standards and expectations.
• Promotes equity, appreciation of diversity, and equitable learning opportunities.
• Cooperates with parents and values their contributions.
• Shares responsibility for accomplishing goals and priorities of grade/team/department and school district.
• Reflects on teaching and embraces continuous learning.
• Completes any other duties directed by the Principal.

• MA Educator License, Early Childhood—Students with or without disabilities, PreK‑2.
• Experience or knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.

  In accordance with the existing bargaining agreement with the Somerset Employment Teachers’ Association.
• Salary:
  In accordance with the existing bargaining agreement with the Somerset Teachers’ Association.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
