Facilities Maintenance

Job Summary

Assist the Facilities team in the service and maintenance of items related to the physical plant, under the direct supervision of the facilities manager. Perform responsibilities to ensure proper operation and appearance of buildings and grounds, maintain equipment, respond to emergencies, assist with HVAC and other systems, set daily work agenda, formulate lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, recommend efficient work solutions, institute recommendations for special projects, and be available for additional work outside normal shifts as required.

Typically 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Occasionally earlier starts, later endings, and Saturday and Sunday work.

• Perform all job operations in a safe manner in accordance with company safety policies.
• Assist in maintaining proper operation and appearance of all buildings and grounds, including landscape and snow removal maintenance.
• Assist in maintaining and help to service warehouse production equipment.
• Assist in responding to daily emergencies related to buildings and grounds to prevent work stoppage or property damage.
• Assist in installation and/or maintenance of HVAC, dust collection, compressed air, water, mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems.
• Meet with facilities manager to set each day’s agenda of work to be performed.
• Interact with facilities manager to formulate Lock‑out/Tag‑out procedures.
• Make recommendations on project direction and how work can be accomplished efficiently.
• Institute recommendations along with the Facilities Manager’s direction to complete special projects.
• Be available for work outside of 1st shift and on weekends (scheduled and unscheduled) as needed but subject to cooperative agreement and state / federal laws.

• Vocational schooling – a plus.
• Maintenance background.
• Product knowledge.
• Comfortable using smartphone applications to access, update, and complete tasks within the company's maintenance management program.
• Knowledge of company health and safety policies.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.
• Forklift operation if required.
• Scissor‑lift operation.
• Power tools proficiency.
• Hand tools proficiency.
• Welding experience (preferred, but not required).

• Must take and pass post‑offer screening drug test, physical, respirator fit test, and consent to a background check.
• Standing/Walking: 8 hours repetitive on feet on concrete floor.
• Stooping/Reaching/Bending: continuous to gather items and fabricate.
• Overhead Lift: up to 7 lb. without assistance and up to 14 lb. with assistance.
• Lift/Grasp: dominant hands/fingers up to 25 lb. without assistance and up to 50 lb. with assistance holding woodworking or steel components in fabrication.
• Carry/Grasp: dominant hands/fingers up to 60 lb. without assistance and up to 120 lb. with assistance.
• Push/Pull: dominant hands rolling carts of interior door products up to 600 lb. without assistance and up to 1200 lb. with assistance.
• Vision: must see near and far sighted.
• Hearing: must hear machinery sounds.
