Sr. Accountant

Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Somerset, New Jersey. This contract position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer. The role requires working onsite five days a week and involves a range of accounting tasks that support the organization's financial health and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

- Perform month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Manage and maintain the general ledger, including posting journal entries.

- Conduct account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.

- Process accounts payable, including matching invoices, purchase orders, and maintaining records.

- Oversee bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between bank statements and company accounts.

- Administer fixed assets accounting and ensure proper tracking and reporting.

- Conduct variance analysis to identify and address discrepancies in financial data.

- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for accounting and financial processes.

- Handle three-way matching for invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.

- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to support ongoing financial operations. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end closing and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in processing journal entries and account reconciliations.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, including three-way matching and purchase order processing.

- Familiarity with bank reconciliations and fixed asset accounting.

- Expertise in variance analysis and identifying discrepancies in financial records.

- Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
