Bookkeeper

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a team in Somerset, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is confident managing core accounting activities, maintaining accurate records, and keeping transactions organized. The role requires strong experience with Quick Books and a hands-on approach to payables, receivables, and account reconciliation.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

- Maintain complete and accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and organizing supporting documentation.

- Process vendor invoices and payments in a timely manner while monitoring outstanding obligations and resolving discrepancies.

- Generate customer invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on overdue balances to support healthy cash flow.

- Reconcile bank and financial accounts on a regular basis to ensure records align with account activity.

- Use Quick Books to manage bookkeeping functions, update account information, and prepare routine financial reports.

- Review accounting entries for accuracy and investigate irregularities before finalizing records.

- Assist with month-end financial close activities by ensuring transactions are posted correctly and accounts are up to date.

Requirements

Bookkeeper Requirements :

- Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.

- Hands-on proficiency with Quick Books for daily accounting and recordkeeping tasks.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice review and payment coordination.

- Experience managing accounts receivable, billing activity, and payment tracking.

- Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and identify variances promptly.
