Position: Bookkeeper/ Payroll
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Payroll specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract assignment in Somerset, New Jersey. This contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing core accounting activities with accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on maintaining organized financial records, processing payroll-related tasks, and helping ensure smooth accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation activities.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain complete and accurate financial records by recording transactions and keeping bookkeeping documentation up to date.

- Process payroll activities with close attention to timing, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.

- Handle outgoing payments by reviewing invoices, preparing disbursements, and tracking accounts payable activity.

- Monitor incoming payments, apply receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable operations.

- Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Use Quick Books to enter financial data, generate reports, and support routine accounting workflows.

- Assist with organizing financial information for review and help maintain orderly supporting documentation for accounting activities. Requirements - Proven experience performing hands-on bookkeeping responsibilities in a detail-focused setting.

- Practical working knowledge of Quick Books for daily accounting and financial recordkeeping tasks.

- Experience managing accounts payable processes, including invoice handling and payment tracking.

- Experience supporting accounts receivable functions such as payment posting and account follow-up.

- Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and investigate variances when needed.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.

- Clear communication skills and a dependable approach to working with sensitive financial information.
