Grade 5 Teacher (Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies)
The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse school community in Somerset County serving approximately 3,700 students in Pre-K through Grade 12, seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic, and innovative professional for the position of Grade 5 Teacher (Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies). The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-based instruction in Grade 5 Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The teacher will create a positive learning environment, utilize data to inform instruction, differentiate to meet the needs of diverse learners, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student achievement.

Qualifications include:
- New Jersey Elementary School Teacher Certification (K-6) or eligibility
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies instruction
- Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards
- Ability to analyze student data and use assessment results to inform instruction
- Experience differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience integrating technology to enhance student learning preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
- Create a classroom environment that promotes academic achievement, student engagement, and positive relationships
- Differentiate instruction to address varying student needs, interests, and learning styles
- Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, interventionists, and administrators to support student success
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and contribute to a collaborative school culture
- Support the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students
Salary range: $62,045 - $104,160 (based on education and experience in accordance with the North Plainfield Education Association Agreement)
