Production Materials Technician, Staging, Pre Production Operator Overnight 6PM-6AM
The position will work five days a week on-site in Somerset, NJ.
The Pre-Production Operator is responsible for preparing, producing, and staging materials and work orders prior to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and stage raw materials and components for upcoming production jobs
- Review work orders and job travelers for accuracy
- Verify material type, thickness, and quantities match job specifications
- Deliver and organize materials at designated workstations or pre-production areas
- Loading and unloading materials onto equipment as required
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging and work areas in accordance with 5S standards
- Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or job readiness issues to supervisors
- Support production by ensuring jobs are prepared and available when scheduled
- Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures
Other Important Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Basic computer or scanner experience is a plus
Physical requirements and work environment:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, reaching, twisting, and grasping
- Safely handle and move production materials and equipment
- Maintain focus and attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment, moving machinery, and moderate to high noise levels. Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be followed at all times.
