Job Title:

Manufacturing Technician 3

Job Description

This role supports the production of advanced ion-beam deposition systems used to create ultra-precise thin-film coatings for AI data centers and other cutting-edge applications. As a Manufacturing Technician 3, you serve as the final technical checkpoint between the build floor and the customer, troubleshooting and testing complete systems and sub-systems to ensure they meet rigorous specifications. You work closely with Engineering and R&D to resolve complex issues, analyze test data, and drive corrective actions that protect product quality and keep production schedules on track.

Responsibilities

* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues discovered during system and sub-system testing, working closely with Engineering and R&D to bring each system to full specification.

* Own the corrective-action loop for test discrepancies by analyzing test data, identifying root causes, coordinating fixes with Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly Test Technicians, and driving issues to closure.

* Manage and maintain all manufacturing test data for acceptance testing, ensuring records remain accurate, complete, and audit-ready from initial testing through final sign-off.

* Compile and interpret statistical reports for each system during final test, transforming raw test data into clear, objective evidence that a tool is ready for shipment.

* Continuously improve test processes by refining existing test methods for current systems and collaborating with Engineering to develop new test methods for future products and components.

* Confirm that each system meets all specifications and performance criteria before release, acting as the technical gatekeeper for both customer satisfaction and production schedules.

* Perform electrical measurements, including voltage checks, using tools such as oscilloscopes and other diagnostic equipment to validate system performance.

* Interpret and work from electrical schematics and technical documentation to support troubleshooting, wiring, and system verification.

* Support safe operation and testing of high-vacuum, high-voltage, and high-power systems by following established safety practices and procedures.

* Collaborate and communicate effectively with assembly technicians, Engineering, leadership, customers, and sales teams to share findings, escalate issues, and provide clear status updates.

* Utilize SAP and other enterprise systems, where applicable, to perform inquiries, generate reports, and execute relevant transactions related to test and manufacturing activities.

Essential Skills

* High school diploma or GED (General Educational Development credential).

* Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.

* Experience working with high-vacuum semiconductor hardware and manufacturing practices.

* Hands-on experience with high-voltage and high-power systems, including adherence to appropriate safety practices.

* Working knowledge of hardware, software, and control systems, with familiarity in analog controls and Device Net (D-Net) preferred.

* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and perform electrical troubleshooting and wiring tasks.

* Proficiency in measuring voltage and using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools.

* Demonstrated skill in statistical data analysis, including the ability to convert discrepancy data into clear corrective actions and identify recurring issues.

* Strong troubleshooting instincts, using logic and structured reasoning to evaluate options and select effective solutions.

* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

* Availability to work overtime based on production demand.

* Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across assembly technicians, Engineering, leadership, customers, and sales.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Proficiency with SAP for inquiries, reporting, and transactions (preferred).

* Associate's degree in a technical or engineering field, or a technical field-service background (preferred).

* Experience working in a cleanroom environment or similar controlled manufacturing setting.

* background as an electrician or equivalent hands-on electrical experience.

* Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, vacuum systems, and capital equipment.

* Familiarity with cleanroom practices, semiconductor processes, and advanced manufacturing environments.

* Interest in working on highly specialized semiconductor manufacturing equipment supporting AI and advanced technology markets.

* Motivation to grow within a fast-paced, expanding operation with strong technical exposure and long-term career development potential.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hands-on manufacturing and test environment focused on complex electromechanical and semiconductor equipment, including electrical, vacuum, and control systems. The role emphasizes…
