Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician PM performs testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment and subsystems in a high-technology environment. This role executes pre-test checks, acceptance testing, and final system verification prior to customer release while working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Assembly teams. The technician analyzes test data, documents results, and supports continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and manufacturing test processes.
Responsibilities
+ Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment and subsystems.
+ Execute pre-test checks, acceptance testing, and final system verification prior to customer release.
+ Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions in partnership with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
+ Install, remove, and configure components within test systems using hand tools and mechanical assemblies.
+ Analyze test data, document results, and maintain accurate and complete manufacturing test records.
+ Operate proprietary testing software and computerized test systems to support manufacturing operations.
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material (BOMs), schematics, and work instructions to perform test and assembly activities.
+ Utilize precision measurement and troubleshooting tools, including calipers, multimeters, and related inspection equipment, to verify equipment performance.
+ Support testing and operation of vacuum systems, power supplies, pumps, and electromechanical systems.
+ Participate in cross-training across multiple manufacturing and test stations to provide flexible support where needed.
+ Work directly with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, and Assembly teams to resolve technical issues and improve testing processes.
+ Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, contributing to root cause analysis, and recommending process improvements.
+ Apply structured troubleshooting methods to explain problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective actions taken, and final outcomes.
+ Work on equipment, machinery, or test systems rather than solely on finished products, ensuring reliable operation in production environments.
+ Use enterprise systems such as ERP tools and SAP (where applicable) to support manufacturing and test activities.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing, test, equipment, electromechanical, or maintenance technician.
+ Demonstrated experience testing and troubleshooting equipment rather than only operating machinery.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working on electromechanical systems and complex builds.
+ Proficiency using hand tools for assembly, installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment and components.
+ Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, bills of material (BOMs), and detailed work instructions.
+ Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers for mechanical inspection and verification.
+ Experience using multimeters and related electrical test equipment for troubleshooting and validation.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to clearly explain problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and final outcomes.
+ Comfort learning and using computerized test systems and proprietary testing software.
+ Experience working on equipment, machinery, or test systems in a manufacturing or technical environment.
+ Ability to support corrective actions and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve equipment issues.
+ Familiarity with schematic reading and mechanical troubleshooting in a production or equipment-focused setting.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's degree in a technical field.
+ Completion of technical school or trade school programs such as HVAC, automotive, electrical, or similar technical disciplines.
