Mechanical Technical Support

We have a current opportunity for a Mechanical Technical Support on a contract basis. The position will be based at Hinkley Point C Somerset .

Technical Support Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to support a specialist installation contract at Hinkley Point

C. You'll act as the client's on‑site technical representative-supporting installation activities, answering technical queries, and ensuring installation methodology and documentation are followed correctly.

Key Responsibilities
Support installation teams with mechanical installation methodology
Interpret and work from technical drawings, method statements, and technical notices

Ideal Background
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, assemblies, and installation
Experience working with method statements, installation documentation, and mechanical problem solving

Technical
- To understand the installation methodology for the product and also the control of the installation conformity.
- To be able to read technical drawings and technical notices related to the equipment.
- To support the installation contractor and/ or NNB in case of technical questions.
- To support the installation contractor and/ or NNB in terms of installation methodology and in case of proposal to modify installation methodologies.
- To support the installation contractor and/ or NNB during the checks and controls of installation conformity.
- To attend the commissioning of doors upon request from NNB.
- To communicate with client team and perform technical analysis.
- To provide a weekly report of the activities performed during the week to client and the customer.

Safety and Environment / Quality
- To respect the safety rules in regard of the Hinkley Point C environment
- To know the safety rules in regards of the installation methodology for the doors
- To know CFSI rules
