Work Shift Time

7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Job Objective

Produce quality beams for weave operation, following Standard Work Instructions and performing to takt time.

Maintain safety, quality and delivery standards.

Complete necessary paperwork and other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions

Commitment to Safety

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Promotes a culture of safety within the organization by leading by example and encouraging others to prioritize safety.
  • Promptly reports any safety incidents or near-misses to the appropriate personnel and contributes to the investigation process.
  • Active participation in safety‑related programs and initiatives is required as necessary. This includes involvement in the safety committee on a rotating schedule, as well as participation in Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.
  • Follow Prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Safely operate hoist and load section beam creels with correct end count order.
  • Lay in all reeds and combs following correct lay‑in style card.
  • Correctly mix sizing following formulas when needed.
  • Ability to correctly repair lost or broken ends that occur during Slashing process.
  • Make minor adjustments assuring quality beams are produced.
  • Maintain quality standards and clean work area.
  • Follow all Standard operating procedures.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, file charts accordingly and print beam tickets.
  • Assist all yarn prep areas as needed.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment is essential.
  • Good attendance is a must.
  • Ability to work overtime as required or requested including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Full time presence required
  • Additional tasks as assigned
Job Qualifications
  • Two years of production machine operator experience.
  • Hazardous Communications, Lockout / Tagout, and Forklift certification (or certification within 30 days).
  • Ability to read a scale and refractometer.
  • Ability to read and interpret written instruction and mix chemicals according to formulas.
  • Ability to calculate comb counts and comb and reed laying.
  • Ability to read and follow laying cards.
  • Ability to perform mechanical adjustments and setup on slashers and creels.
  • Ability to wear hearing protection, goggles, and gloves.
  • Minimum of six months of experience operating complex machinery.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions to an acceptable standard with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to maintain or exceed work standards which will be reviewed at regular intervals.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to self‑pace learning including book, web‑base and classroom participation.
