Start Your Career Building Life-Saving Medical Devices

At Life Science Outsourcing (LSO), we manufacture the medical devices that clinicians rely on and patients depend on. As an Oil Room Operator I, you will pull foil, run the form press, and keep the production line moving on components that end up in real patient care. It is hands on work where precision matters, and every part you handle has a person on the other end of it.

This is an entry level role, so no prior manufacturing experience is required. We provide on the job training. What we are looking for is someone who shows up reliably, follows instructions carefully, notices when something looks off, and wants to learn the equipment well enough to grow into the next level.

What You’ll Do

As part of our Manufacturing team in Somersworth, you will work alongside experienced operators and your Production Supervisor to keep quality product moving on schedule.

Press Operation and Material Prep
  • Pull foil and prepare materials so the production line stays supplied and running.
  • Operate the form press, keeping the machine running smoothly through the shift.
  • Support changeovers and restarts so downtime stays short.
Quality and In-Process Checks
  • Perform basic in process quality checks on product and materials.
  • Follow written work instructions and documented procedures exactly as issued.
  • Flag product, material, or paperwork that does not look right instead of passing it down the line.
Equipment Monitoring and Upkeep
  • Monitor equipment during production and report abnormal conditions to your supervisor right away.
  • Assist with routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Learn the equipment well enough to catch small problems before they become big ones.
Safety and Housekeeping
  • Follow all safety guidelines, lockout procedures, and company policies without exception.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility gowning and hygiene rules.
  • Keep your work area, tools, and materials clean, organized, and audit ready.
Qualifications What You Bring Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No prior experience required. On the job training is provided.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Comfortable working as part of a production team on a shared line.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus, as is prior production, assembly, packaging, or warehouse experience.
Mindset and Impact
  • Attention to detail. In medical device manufacturing, the small checks are the ones that matter.
  • Dependable attendance and a steady, consistent pace through a full shift.
  • Willingness to speak up about a safety or quality concern the moment you see it.
  • Genuineinterestinlearningtheequipmentandadvancingtohigheroperatorlevels.
Why Join LSO?
  • Your work directly supports life‑saving medical devices used by patients and clinicians.
  • Paidonthejobtrainingwithnopriormanufacturingexperienceneededtostart.
  • A clear entry point into medical device manufacturing with room to advance to higher operator levels.
  • Experience inside an FDA registered, ISO 13485 certified quality system that transfers across the industry.
  • A stable, growing manufacturer where operators are trusted to own their line and their quality.
Work Environment
  • On-site at our Somersworth, NH manufacturing facility. This role cannot be performed remotely.
  • Production floor environment operating under an FDA registered, ISO 13485 certified quality system.
  • Required personal protective equipment, gowning, and hygiene practices apply in controlled production areas.
  • Must be physically able to sit or stand for extended periods and walk extended distances as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or more, including viewing a computer monitor for extended periods.
  • Other duties may be assigned as business needs change.

The devices that leave our Somersworth floor end up in operating rooms, clinics, and homes. That means the foil you pull, the press you run, and the check you decide not to skip all carry real consequences for someone you will never meet. If you want work where showing up and doing it right actually matters, this is a good place to start.
