Tourism Development Manager
Located 17 km from the Vendée coasts and served by maritime and air routes, L'Ile d'Yeu, a commune-canton and classified tourism resort, is part of the network of Iles du Ponant. The latest demographic census shows a population of 5,000 inhabitants, which ranks the Island of Yeu among the most dynamic islands on the Atlantic coast.
Tourism, the main economic activity, appears as a necessary lever for development that it is necessary to master to limit or anticipate the impacts on the human and natural balances of the territory. The island population reaches 25,000 inhabitants during the high tourist season.
The redesign of the tourism strategy is underway and clearly outlines areas to develop around sustainable tourism, for example, encouraging social and more inclusive tourism, quality reception and services by improving the living environment and flows, and the measured promotion of an authentic, lively year-round island.
The Tourist Office, under EPIC status, is classified Quality Tourism, Category I, labeled tourism and disability and bike-friendly, is composed of a team of 8 permanent and two seasonal staff, and carries out reception (70,000 visitors per year), information, promotion and marketing missions, while actively participating in the development of tourism alongside the municipality.
MissionUnder the authority of the president,
- Animate and lead the tourism policy implemented at the scale of the Island of Yeu,
- Develop and implement in relation with the community a strategy in terms of tourist promotion, communication and information and products,
- Manage and develop, stimulate cooperation and consultation between tourism actors, public or private,
- Represent the tourist office with all local and national instances and tourism partners,
- Set up in consultation with tourism service providers and structuring tourist facilities of the territory, promotion, marketing and training
- Manage, animate and accompany the rise in skills of the team,
- Ensure administrative and financial management in compliance with the standards and regulations specific to EPICs,
- Ensure internal quality follow-up
Higher education (Bac + 4/5 in tourism development / economic development or equivalent)
Experience required in a similar position, with proven management function
Knowledge of the functioning of local authorities
Knowledge of the devices and actors of local development, tourism partners
Knowledge of the rules of public administration in terms of organization, public finance and accounting, procedures related to public procurement and particularities of the taxation of EPICs
Competence in project management, promotion-communication
Writing and synthesis skills
Mastery of two foreign languages (English, if possible German) and mastery of information and communication tools
Know-how: adaptability, communication skills and sense of relationship, pedagogy, diplomacy, contact and listening, creativity, rigor

Local, departmental and regional travel
Driving license B required and love for cycling
The tourist office accepts candidates who are committed as volunteer firefighters.
