Position: Instructional Strategist (2026/2027 School Year)

Instructional Strategist

The job of Instructional Strategist is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program by developing instructional experience opportunities for teaching staff; analyzing data to determine appropriate groupings and interventions for students; offering advanced instruction guidance; developing enhanced teaching resource materials; providing information and/or direction to students; and promoting programs with teaching staff.

Essential Functions

  • Analyzes a variety of program-related information for the purpose of monitoring progress toward established goals, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Assesses and coordinates professional development needs of teachers based on classroom observations and other means as necessary for the purpose of enhancing instructional practices, fostering professional growth, and ultimately improving student learning outcomes.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with teachers, administrators, IAs, and other strategists for the purpose of fostering a collaborative, trust-based culture that supports aligned instructional practices, shared problem-solving, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Coaches teacher for the purpose of improving performance and enhancing student learning outcomes.
  • Develops professional learning and coaching plans identifying data-based goals with teachers for the purpose of ensuring that professional development is purposeful, aligned with school and district priorities, and designed to strengthen consistent, high-quality instruction across classrooms.
  • Monitors students' performance in critical domains according to program guidelines, as part of the leadership team for the purpose of identifying learning needs, informing instructional adjustments, and ensuring timely support that promotes student growth and mastery.
  • Monitors teachers as they incorporate strategies and standards into daily instruction for the purpose of supporting a culture of reflective practice and ongoing instructional improvement aligned with school and district goals.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops, and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information to enhance teaching/learning outcomes.
  • Prepares a variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting teacher development and capacity.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of resolving issues and providing information and/or direction.
  • Supports instructional assistants by providing modeling for enhanced teaching techniques and strategies for the purpose of strengthening classroom instruction, increasing staff capacity, and ensuring consistent, high-quality learning experiences for all students.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective functioning of classroom instruction.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: lesson planning; instructional materials; assessment instruments and techniques;

methods of instruction and training; and school safety and security practices.

Skills are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment, including using pertinent software applications; applying curriculum and instructional techniques; comparing results and conducting training; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Ability is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing a variety of complex processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes;

and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate.
