REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Services
Purpose StatementThe Test Coordinator oversees district and state assessment programs; ensures accurate administration, test security, compliance with state and federal requirements, and the effective use of student achievement data to support instructional decision‑making. The role provides training, technical support, data analysis, and communication to ensure successful assessment implementation and reporting.
Essential Functions- Analyzes and interprets student achievement data to identify trends, patterns, and key findings, communicating results to administrators to support data‑driven instructional decision‑making and program improvement.
- Collaborates with the Instructional Services Director and site administration to develop and implement procedures and timelines for administering state and district assessments, ensuring standardized, efficient, and compliant testing practices.
- Coordinates placement of EL students in appropriate SEI courses based on state assessment data, language proficiency levels, and district academic requirements.
- Coordinates all district and state‑mandated assessments, including preparation and distribution of required parent notifications for AASA and EL identification, placement, reclassification, and assessment results.
- Maintains state/district testing systems and platforms (e.g., PAN, ADE, Synergy) to ensure accurate student data, test assignments, and reporting integrity.
- Monitors MOWR compliance by collaborating with the director and site administrators, reviewing and collecting literacy plans, and ensuring required documentation and processes.
- Coordinates MOWR summer school and assessment processes to support targeted instructional opportunities and ensure compliance with state literacy requirements.
- Ensures all students are tested in the most appropriate manner, coordinating accommodations and submitting appeals as needed regarding mandated requirements for language and achievement tests.
- Gathers, monitors, analyzes, and interprets assessment data to ensure accurate reporting, identify trends, support compliance, and inform district and site‑level decision making.
- Monitors district and state testing implementation and manages testing materials, access, and documentation to maintain compliance and test security.
- Monitors student enrollment and testing eligibility to ensure all students are assessed within required timelines and data systems remain accurate.
- Participates in meetings, trainings, conferences, and seminars to convey and gather information required to perform functions.
- Prepares and presents written materials and reports to inform administrators, teachers, and stakeholders, supporting data‑driven decision‑making and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Responds to inquiries from teachers, emails, phone calls, etc., to resolve issues and provide direction.
- Trains, supervises, and evaluates staff on proper testing security, administration, and monitoring procedures to maintain standardized testing conditions and compliance with regulations and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Instructional Services Department.
Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE required to perform advanced math, read technical information, compose documents, facilitate group discussions, and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge includes appropriate codes, policies, regulations, and laws governing EL education;
Arizona SEI Models; assessment and reassessment processes; data reading and interpretation; and supervisory principles and practices.
