This role will oversee the general ledger, monthly close, and financial reporting support processes while building scalable infrastructure to support public company requirements. The Director will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, participating in the build-out of SOX compliance, and enhancing the effectiveness of our ERP and close-related systems. We are seeking a forward-thinking leader who embraces technology, automation, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities to drive scalability, strengthen controls, improve operational efficiency, and enable a more data-driven accounting organization.

This leader will manage a small team and must combine strong technical expertise with a detail-oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves approach and a mindset focused on process optimization, system leverage, and continuous improvement.

Here's how you will contribute:

* Build and scale accounting processes, systems, and controls to support the Company's evolution as a newly public biotech company, including optimization of Net Suite and related close/reporting tools to enhance automation, reporting capabilities, workflow efficiency, and data integrity.

* Champion the evaluation and adoption of technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that enhance the effectiveness, scalability, and efficiency of accounting processes, internal controls, financial reporting support, and close activities, while maintaining appropriate governance, accuracy, and compliance standards.

* Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Clinical Operations, R&D, Procurement, and Legal to ensure accurate accounting for clinical trial expenses and other key operational activities, including leading the Phase 3 clinical trial accrual process and related financial analyses.

* Support SEC reporting and public company compliance requirements in collaboration with the technical accounting and SEC reporting teams, including the design and implementation of ICFR and SOX-compliant processes and documentation.

* Ensure audit readiness and serve as a key liaison with external auditors to support quarterly reviews, annual audits, and continuous process improvements across the accounting function.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.

* 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public company or pre-IPO experience.

* Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.

* Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting processes.

* Experience with Net Suite required; familiarity with close management and ancillary financial systems preferred.

* Experience in biotechnology, life sciences, or R&D-intensive environments preferred.

* Experience participating in SOX implementation or operating in a SOX-compliant environment.
