CFS is partnering with a mission-driven organization to hire a Staff Accountant in Somerville, MA. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity (5 days in office) offering up to $90,000, excellent benefits, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in the nonprofit space.
Position:Staff Accountant
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a collaborative finance team within a well-established nonprofit organization. The ideal Staff Accountant will bring strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on nonprofit experience to support day-to-day financial operations and reporting.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries for the Staff Accountant role
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts
- Support grant tracking and reporting requirements
- Assist with preparation of financial statements
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP)
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors
- MUST HAVE nonprofit accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with accounting software and Excel
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Salary:
Up to $90,000 - Full benefits package including health, dental, vision
