Facilities Operations Intern  Labs

This is a paid summer internship, reserved for PELL GRANTED undergraduate students only, through Project Onramp. To apply for this role, you must provide proof of pell grant.

Bio Labs supports scientists and biotech founders by providing premium laboratory, vivarium, and office spaces with turnkey services, state-of-the-art equipment, and an entrepreneurial environment. In the past year, Hatch.

Bio Labs supported 23 resident companies and more than 160 scientists and founders.

* RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Daily facilities + logistics support (about 80%)
  • Assist with lab support tasks such as restocking supplies and supporting chemical waste management processes (training provided)
  • Collect, sort, and distribute deliveries from the loading dock to resident companies
  • Keep shared spaces clean, stocked, and “tour-ready”
  • Restock essentials such as coffee, snacks, and paper goods, and flag low inventory
  • Spot issues quickly (broken items, leaks, or anything unusual) and communicate clearly to the team
  • Assist with resident onboarding tasks such as setting up desks and putting up new signage
  • Vendor support + special projects (about 20%)
  • Research vendors and support small projects by collecting and comparing quotes
  • Help coordinate simple improvements to the space as needed
* DESIRED MAJORS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS +

SKILLS:
  • Operations, Facilities, Business, Engineering, Biology/Life Sciences, Environmental Science, Supply Chain, or related fields
  • Undergraduate students (rising sophomores and above preferred)
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to follow instructions and checklists
  • Comfortable doing hands‑on tasks and moving around the facility throughout the day
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice when something is off (supplies low, spaces messy, items broken, etc.)
  • Clear communication skills and comfort asking questions when unsure
  • Comfortable working onsite and supporting shared spaces used by many teams
  • Willingness to complete Lab Safety Training (provided by Hatch.Bio Labs)
