Edge of Elsewhere is a 12,000-square-foot immersive world of art, puzzles, and secrets, coming to Somerville in Fall 2026. Inside, explorers collaborate to unravel storylines and explore worlds that each play by their own rules.
The RoleWe are excited to bring on our first Social Media Intern for the fall semester! This is a hands-on role for someone who lives on social media. You'll edit video, run our posting calendar, keep our library organized, and help shape how Edge of Elsewhere sounds online. You'll work closely with a small team and have real ownership over what we put out into the world.
This is a great opportunity to help shape the voice of a brand-new immersive venue from the ground up.
We’re looking for a maker who knows what makes people stop scrolling. You're a strong short-form editor/creator with a good ear for voice, organized enough to run a calendar, and plugged into what's happening on social media right now. You care about the details and you hit your deadlines.
Responsibilities- Edit our existing raw content and videos into short-form posts (Reels, blogs, releases, etc.)
- Add captions, cuts, music, and light motion/text so pieces are platform-ready
- Assist with the social media posting calendar across channels (IG, Tik Tok, You Tube Shorts, Facebook, and others as we add them); schedule posts, hold a consistent cadence, flag gaps, and time content around venue milestones
- Manage the asset library - organize raw and finished content into a clear, named folder system; track what we have, what's been used, and what's still usable so we don't lose good footage
- Help refine our voice - learn and apply Edge of Elsewhere's tone across captions and posts; draft caption copy for review and propose voice tweaks as we see what lands; stay current on trends Edge of Elsewhere can use
- Some light community management
- Genuinely strong short-form video editing, specifically for IG, Tik Tok, and Reels
- Fluent in the platforms as a maker, not just a scroller
- Organized and self-directed
- A good ear for voice and clean, punchy writing; comfortable drafting captions
Plugged into social trends - A strong interest in social media and marketing
Reliable with deadlines
- Motion graphics or light animation
- Experience shooting your own content
- Interest in immersive, experiential, or the arts
- Basic photo editing and graphic design
- $15-$18 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Approximately 12 hours a week with some fluctuation
- Complimentary tickets and staff perks
