Statement of Duties

The Coordinator is primarily responsible for program evaluation of training; policy review and implementation of CIT initiatives at the local level. The Coordinator will oversee data collection and develop and implement evaluation tools for all trainings. Coordinator is point of contact for all Law Enforcement partners to provide technical assistant and schedule meetings to advance the mission and goals of CIT.

Coordinator will oversee and manage the content for the Metro Boston Crisis Intervention Team Training and Technical Assistance Center (MB CIT-TTAC) website.

Essential Functions

  • The position will be based at the Police Department but will require frequent travel in the metro-Boston area to meet with partner police departments and behavioral health partners
  • Work with Crime Analyst and COHR Director to development systems to identify calls for service related to behavioral health, document response and develop behavioral health partnerships
  • Provide consultation to partner police departments related to developing mission statements and communicating CIT goals and outcomes
  • Regularly review COHR and CIT data collection to ensure accurate documentation and assess and create coding to more clearly capture work product. Provide data for annual Budget presentation
  • Conduct ongoing programmatic evaluation of CIT and CIT related training curriculums including Certification Test analysis. This involves coding to ensure training objectives are being met
  • Creating systems to streamline information sharing and efficient programmatic and client documentation
  • Document emerging Community CIT models that demonstrate the benefits of Public Health and Public Safety integrated models
  • Coordinate special events, marketing and registrations. Inform and Preform Scenario based training
  • Maintain active database of community resources for the MB CIT region, through a public health lenses. Strategies will focus on social determinates of health. Database will be updated on a monthly basis
  • Work with partners to ensure programmatic documentation and data, meet standards of confidentiality
  • Participate in setting agenda and staffing quarterly Somerville Community Stakeholder Meetings, work with Sr. Crime Analyst to identify trends and determine training topics or systems training. Record and send out minutes from meetings
Recommended Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Master’s Degree with Public Health, Research & Evaluation preferred, with more than three (3) years of experience in either case
  • Bilingual in Portuguese, Spanish, and or Haitian Creole preferred
  • Bachelor of Science, with a minimum of 3 years of program evaluation experience, will be considered
Knowledge, Abilities And Skill

Knowledge:
Must have demonstrated knowledge of a variety of data collection measurements and tools. Experience with curriculum development

Abilities:
Ability to create interview, survey, focus group, and evaluation questions for the purpose of program evaluation and wider systems understanding. Must also be able to conduct various kinds of Interviews and make implementation suggestions when appropriate to partner police departments. Ability to learn QED and CAD police specific database systems, follow and enforce the policies and procedures of the program.

Skills:

Analytical skills to implement and maintain current training records and databases. Excellent written and verbal skills, computer skills, record keeping, and organizational skills. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office software. Be able to work independently and be responsible.

Work Environment

The work environment involves everyday discomforts typical of offices, with occasional exposure to outside elements. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant. Employees may be required to work beyond normal business hours in response to attending evening meetings or completing work assignments.
