Paul Lukez Architecture (PLA) is a Boston–based design firm deeply committed to “creating sustainable designs that enrich the environment and elevate the human experience.” Over the past three years, the firm has received over 10 regional, national, and international design awards for design excellence. PLA serves outstanding clients on a range of projects in the U.S. and occasionally abroad, including innovation spaces (learning spaces, labs and offices), interiors, residential projects, and urban design.
The office provides a highly collaborative studio setting where shared commitment to design excellence, craft, sustainability, and client service is of paramount value.
The Job Captain/Jr. Project Manager will work collaboratively with the firm’s Principal and Senior Staff to design spaces in accordance with architectural standards and sound design principles while meeting both client and company expectations in terms of design appearance, functionality, budget, and timelines.
Essential Duties- Design a variety of spaces, including architectural interior projects (office, hospitality, and residential), innovation projects (learning spaces, lab/research spaces, and studio/creative workplace environments), and residential/housing projects.
- Manage pre‑project services, building documentation and measurement, schematic design, design development, construction drawings, bidding and negotiation, and/or construction management depending on the project’s schedule and the office’s needs.
- A professional degree is required; B‑Arch or M‑Arch or equivalent.
- More than four years of experience in a design position.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organization skills and responsiveness to client and management needs.
- Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and Sketch Up (the latter two are a plus).
- Professional licensure is a plus, as is passing LEED exams (LEED Green Associate, LEED BD+C, or other qualifying tests provided by USGBC).
- Occasional physical exertion, including some lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- May require sitting for extended periods with possible kneeling or crouching.
