Designer - Hospitality Studio; Restaurant & Bar Design

We’re currently looking to add a Designer to our Hospitality Studio with 8+ years of experience. This position is open to both interior and architectural designers, but previous restaurant and bar design experience (ideally 5+ years) and a portfolio are a must.

We’re looking for someone who wants to create places that people seek out and talk about. Someone who wants to create spaces that make people feel something more, and makes them want to come back again and again, and feel that way again and again.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves restaurants, bars, hotels, retail, and all kinds of social spaces. We’re looking for someone who thinks about the whole experience– from big concepts to carefully crafted details. Someone who thinks beyond the space, to the food, the brand, and the service. We want someone who gets excited about the challenge of taking it all into consideration and pushes themself to bring everything together through thoughtful and meaningful design that’s even better than your last.

We’re looking for someone who loves all aspects of the design process— from sketching, to mood boards, layouts, form, function, materials, millwork, etc. You need to have great design sensibilities, range, and constantly want to make yourself stronger. You also need to be technically sound and able to make great ideas real and buildable.

You need to collaborate. You need to really listen to your clients, help guide them, and create unique experiences that bring their goals and needs to life. You need to be a part of a larger team, take feedback, share ideas, and utilize one another’s skill sets to make the work that much stronger. You need to push yourself and grow.

We’re looking for someone who wants to do great restaurant, bar, and hospitality design.

Required Software

Skills:

• Proficient in Revit
• Adobe Creative Suite:
  InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

Must-Haves:

• Resume or CV
• Portfolio of relevant work
• Restaurant and bar design experience
• 8+ years of professional experience as an interior designer or architectural designer in a design studio or firm
• 5+ years of restaurant and bar design experience
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
• NCIDQ or AIA certification recommended
• Strong conceptual & strategic design thinking
• Knowledge of all aspects of the design process: strategy, design, documentation, FFE selection and specification, coordination, implementation, construction
• Understand and coordinate engineering systems relevant to projects
• Strong knowledge of building and life safety code requirements
• Strong self-motivation
• Highly adaptable and flexible
• Comfortable presenting your own work to clients
  
  Strong graphic presentation skills and can communicate design ideas meaningfully
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Very collaborative and team-conscious
• Access to self-transportation
• Able to be in-office 4 days a week

Salary Range

• $80,000 - $95,000 per year. Negotiable based on experience.
