The Somerville Community Schools Program provides After School and Out of School Time Care in the Somerville Public Schools. We operate After School programs from dismissal until 5:30 pm including early release days; full day programs during school vacation weeks and during summer. It is our mission to provide high quality, affordable, Out of School Time Care to Somerville children in grades Pre-K through 8.

• Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree preferred
• Evidence of five years of successful teaching/summer camp experience
• Demonstrated experience as an administrator or supervisor
• Ability to travel between programs daily if needed

• Supervise summer staff and all instructional activities
• Supervise the maintenance of attendance of students
• Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary
• Supervise the daily lunch and snack count and maintain supplies and equipment as well as proper distribution.
• Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff including bus transportation for field trips and off site activities.
• Define and monitor crisis management plan, including emergency procedures
• Supervise office procedures, opening-and closing-day procedures for staff and campers.
• Assess all summer camp activities and provide recommendations for the improvement of future summer programs
• One evening family night event during the last week of the program
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Community Schools Administrators

Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days:

May 27, June 15, and June 24, 2026 (subject to change)

July 6-August 14

8:15 to 4:15 Monday-Friday
