Position: 2026 Summer Programs - Summer Elementary: Teacher, Grades 1-6

Job Description

Seasonal summer school teacher for grades 1‑6 in Somerville Public Schools (Somerville, Massachusetts) from July 6, 2026 to July 31, 2026. Position reports to K‑8 Curriculum Coordinators, Director of Summer Elementary Program, and Assistant Director.

Qualifications
  • MA DESE Elementary License in appropriate grade level preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a classroom of summer school students throughout the day
  • Provide small group instruction in math and ELA with support of a math/ELA instructional specialist
Terms of Employment

Seasonal/Yearly Employment

July 6, 2026 – July 31, 2026

Hourly Rate: $35 per hour worked

Monday through Friday, 5 days per week, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: TBD, June 2026

K‑8 Curriculum Coordinators, Director of Summer Elementary Program, & Assistant Director of Summer Elementary Program
