Position Summary
The Healey Families Initiative seeks to close the disengagement gap among the historically marginalized families by facilitating monthly parent support groups in Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole in order to support parents to feel empowered and to advocate for their children’s education.
We are seeking teachers, caregivers, and community members to help support our work with Healey families.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Manage HFI's programming: childcare, meeting agendas, funding and budget, etc.
- Lead bi‑weekly team meetings at the Healey School or remotely
- Lead or supervise monthly HFI Caregiver meetings
- Provide outreach to families and make referrals to the HFI
- Knowledge of child development
- Experience working with marginalized families
- Ability to establish good working relationship with children, parents, and other staff
- Bilingual preferred
- Ability to perform duties while standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work with students at various physical levels, including bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and/or move materials and equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate standard classroom tools and technology (e.g., computers, tablets, instructional materials).
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families, both verbally and in writing.
