The Experimental College at Tufts University seeks Visiting Lecturers to design and teach small, discussion‑based courses for undergraduate students. Applicants are invited to propose innovative, out‑of‑the‑ordinary courses that promote active learning, experiential learning, and provide clear connections to the post‑college world.
NOTE:
To avoid overlap, check Tufts department course listings to ensure your proposed course does not duplicate existing courses.
- Design, develop, and teach a 3‑credit, letter‑graded elective course.
- Teach once a week in the evening for 2.5 contact hours over thirteen weeks (January 20 – May 3, 2027).
- Incorporate active discussion, experiential learning, and professional relevance into all course components.
- Collaborate with the ExCollege team and adjust syllabi as needed to meet institutional guidelines.
- Specialized expertise relevant to undergraduate students and the ability to communicate it effectively.
- Background check clearance is required for all offers.
$5,600 per course, whether taught individually or team‑taught. Stipends are split between co‑instructors if a course is co‑taught.
ScheduleSemester begins January 20, 2027 and ends May 3, 2027.
