VMS is seeking Teacher Aides/Paraprofessionals for our Infant Classroom (ages 8 weeks - 15 months), Toddler Classroom (ages 15 months - 2.9 years), Primary Classroom (ages 3 years - 6 years), Elementary Classroom (6 years - 12 years).

The Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide plays a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, respectful, and developmentally appropriate Montessori learning environment. They actively engage with children, guiding them through daily routines and supporting their independence, curiosity, and love of learning. In a Montessori environment, the Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide reinforces lessons introduced by the Lead Teacher and assists with the instructional and developmental needs of students by providing individualized and small-group cross curriculum support.

They help students strengthen foundational literacy skills through developmentally appropriate, hands-on, and student-centered practices. The Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide’s adaptability and proactive approach help ensure the classroom functions smoothly and every child receives consistent, high-quality care and education.

As a role model and educator, the Paraprofessional/Teacher Aide helps maintain a calm, organized, and purposeful learning environment, ensuring safety and alignment with Montessori values, while working collaboratively under the Lead Teacher's guidance.

Job Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions and take responsibility for the safety and well-being of students
  • Open to feedback and dedicated to continuous learning and professional growth
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Genuine interest in a child's wellbeing, development and Montessori education

This position is available part-time and/or full-time, and is a year-round position.

Salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000/year and is determined by the candidates prior experience and working hours.
