Job Description & How to Apply Below

About Us

Eden is pioneering sustainable natural resource recovery by using electricity to enhance subsurface permeability. Our Electrical Reservoir Stimulation technology offers a precise, water-efficient alternative to traditional hydraulic fracturing, reducing environmental risks while maximizing resource extraction.

Backed by leading public and private institutions, we have raised ~$24M, including $14M in dilutive capital from industry leaders such as Anglo American and Helmerich & Payne, along with climate-focused investors like the Grantham Foundation. Additionally, we have secured $10M in non-dilutive funding, primarily through four DOE ARPA-E grants that support our R&D in frontier industries.

Headquartered in Somerville, MA, and with an office in Houston, TX, Eden's team of 16 experts specializes in geophysics, geochemistry, high-voltage engineering, and subsurface tool design. We are actively demonstrating our next-generation permeability enhancement technology across diverse geologies worldwide, collaborating with industry leaders in geothermal energy, geologic hydrogen, carbon storage, and mining to redefine resource recovery for a carbon-neutral future.

Looking ahead, we are preparing for surface and subsurface field tests, in cooperation with our supportive technical partners.

Your Impact
  • Generate inputs to 3D geologic models including well tops, reservoir surfaces, lithology interpretations, geologic boundaries, etc. from sparse and dense datasets.
  • Develop and refine 3D reservoir models in Petrel from geologic interpretations, incorporating gridding, upscaling, and facies modeling to capture heterogeneity and optimize simulation accuracy.
  • Distribute petrophysical properties and integrate natural and induced fractures using DFN, dual-porosity, and Embedded Discrete Fracture Models to achieve realistic subsurface representations.
  • Design and execute hydraulic fracture simulations in Kinetics, calibrating permeability, connectivity, reservoir impedance, injectivity and fracture geometry for high-fidelity results.
  • Integrate ERS fracture properties and geometries from Eden’s internal simulator code into Petrel’s gridded 3D geologic models. Optimize grid refinement to capture ERS fracture geometries.
  • Configure and run full-field thermal recovery simulations in Intersect to evaluate Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) performance, including cold-water injection, heat extraction modeling and power generation for conventional temperature EGS and supercritical (>375C) scenarios.
  • Simulate thermal-hydraulic-mechanical-chemical (THMC) coupling to assess long‑term reservoir behavior, fracture evolution, and energy recovery sustainability.
  • Partner with geologists, geomechanical engineers, and field teams to integrate multi‑disciplinary data, validate models, and optimize stimulation strategies.
  • Identify and quantify key reservoir uncertainties through sensitivity analysis, guiding field development and design decisions.
  • Contribute to next-generation geothermal reservoir modeling frameworks to enhance recovery efficiency and accelerate EGS commercialization.
About You
  • Master’s or PhD (or equivalent expertise) in Petroleum, Reservoir, or Geothermal Engineering, or a closely related subsurface discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience building and running 3D reservoir models and full‑field simulations, ideally within geothermal or unconventional systems.
  • Strong command of Petrel, Kinetics, and Intersect for model construction, upscaling, fracture integration, and thermal recovery simulation.
  • Proficient in fracture modeling and geomechanics, including stress analysis, fracture propagation, and permeability evolution under coupled THMC conditions.
  • Deep understanding of thermal recovery mechanisms, heat transfer physics, and flow behavior in high‑temperature reservoirs.
  • Experience with discrete fracture network (DFN), dual‑porosity, and Embedded Discrete Fracture Models (EDFM) to capture reservoir heterogeneity and fracture connectivity.
  • Skilled in gridding, upscaling, and petrophysical property modeling to balance computational performance and simulation accuracy.
  • Analytical thinker capable of interpreting complex field and…
