Roadmaster Bridges & Buildings will oversee the construction and maintenance of various projects directed by the MBTA Commuter Rail System to ensure a safe and dependable environment for passenger operation. The projects include work on bridges, stations, culverts, and along the Right of Way.
Salary Range: $89,622 - $108,296
Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of Department of Transportation & Federal Railroad Administration rules and regulations.
- Knowledge in train operations and safety requirements.
- Responsible for interpreting rules and regulations governing the railroad.
- Administer collective bargaining agreements through regular job.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent credential.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in all aspects of construction.
- Prefer trade school certifications, college degree, or equivalent work experience in Bridge and Building and/or construction.
- Requires a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external.
- Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities.
- Must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Prefer proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Prefer experience in the application of labor contracts.
- Demonstrate and adhere to Keolis Commuter Services principles including Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence, Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Economic Performance.
- Implement and monitor operational practices to ensure equipment reliability and quality service while maintaining a safe and productive workplace.
- Administer and manage the Department’s annual budget to meet financial targets.
- Analyze utilization of departmental workforce and facilities to continuously improve work practices and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and procedures and report hazards as required.
- Supervise assigned employees for compliance with federal, state, and company regulations, and KCS/MBTA contract agreements.
- Review plans, forms and documents pertaining to bridges and stations.
- Ensure quality assurance of work performed by Department employees.
- Schedule and track projects from both construction and financial perspectives.
- Cover special assignments and respond to emergency calls in a 24/7 transportation environment.
- Identify training needs and assist in the formulation and implementation of programs.
- Ensure compliance with KCS equal employment policies, safety rules, and operating rules.
