Job Summary
Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing complex telecommunications systems and networks, including CX1 platform administration and Azure‑based infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable transmission of voice, data, and multimedia communications within an organization. Oversees systems administration activities related to CX1 and other enterprise communication tools, ensuring performance, security, and scalability in cloud environments.
Provides guidance and mentorship to other telecommunications engineers.
- Designs and implements telecommunications networks and systems based on organizational requirements and industry best practices.
- Monitors and maintains the performance and reliability of existing telecommunications systems.
- Assess the current and future capacity requirements of the network infrastructure.
- Collaborates with telecommunications vendors and service providers to procure equipment, negotiate contracts, and manage service‑level agreements.
- Implements and maintains robust security measures to protect telecommunications networks from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Provides technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Creates and maintains detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and operating procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree required; experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
- At least 5–7 years of experience in telecommunications engineering required
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications principles, technologies, and protocols (e.g., IP, VoIP, SIP, MPLS, Ethernet).
- Proficiency in network design and implementation using industry‑standard tools and technologies.
- In‑depth understanding of network security concepts and practices.
- Experience with telecommunications equipment, such as switches, routers, PBX systems, and VoIP gateways.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., FCC, ITU‑T, IEEE).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
While this position is designated as remote, all employees, including those classified as remote, may be required to attend meetings, trainings, or other necessary functions onsite at a Mass General Brigham location on an as‑needed basis. Reasonable notice will be provided for any required in‑person attendance.
Working Conditions- Morning–evening (M‑F) Eastern Business Hours required.
