AboutThe Role
We’re looking for a motivated Finance Associate to join our dynamic team in the Somerville office. The role focuses on managing and optimizing financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The Finance Associate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to streamline workflows, support strategic decision‑making, and maintain the highest standards of financial integrity.
What You Will- Analyze financial data and support reporting, forecasting, and operational finance projects
- Manage and support client invoicing and billing workflows
- Review and reconcile financial transactions across banking, accounting, payroll, and expense systems
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable operations
- Help ensure billing accuracy and investigate discrepancies or missing records
- Organize and maintain clean financial documentation and operational records
- Assist with monthly close processes and reporting preparation
- Categorize expenses and maintain structured financial data across departments
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve finance and billing‑related questions
- Help improve financial processes, reporting consistency, and operational workflows as the company scales
- 1–3 years experience as a staff accountant or similar role
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance and accounting theory, including three‑statement financial modeling
- Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations
- Ability to describe accounting systems and processes in written and verbal correspondence
- Strong knowledge of and experience with international tax processes
- Mastery of Microsoft Office; accounting software including Net Suite, Quick Books, Xero, Expensify, and
- Ability to navigate a dynamic startup environment, adapt to evolving priorities, and take ownership in building structure and establishing foundational accounting processes
- Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
- Work onsite at our Somerville office 4 days a week
