Job Summary

The per Diem Research Assistant will conduct data analysis in Nurses' Health Study and other cohort studies. Contribute to cancer diagnosis confirmation and conduct data entry and data cleaning. Conduct statistical analyses for study investigator. Create summary tables, and draft manuscripts. Conduct literature reviews and contribute to grant writing. Additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Science required.

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct data analysis within large study population.
  • Review medical records to confirm disease diagnoses.
  • Conduct data entry and data cleaning.
  • Conduct statistical analysis. Summarize results in tables and graphs. Write manuscripts presenting data results and interpretation of findings.
  • Conduct literature reviews and write up reports.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned including assisting with other diagnostic follow-up and general office procedures.
Qualifications

MPH, MS in epidemiology or equivalent experience working in epidemilogic research setting preferred. Experience in SAS and data analysis preferred.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required
  • Must have knowledge of medical terminology as well as good general written and verbal skills. High degree of communication skills and ability to speak professionally with investigators and study physicians.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and in a timely fashion.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the job is necessary to obtain valid research results.
  • Needs ability to relate and work well with individuals from various backgrounds and fields of expertise.
  • Must have experience with computers and word processing skills.
  • Must have data analysis skills, and experience using SAS.
