Job Summary

Mass General Brigham's Athletic Trainers provide services to student athletes under the direction of the program or department head or designee in accordance with state athletic training practices. This role would be supporting various schools within the Boston Public School District. Essential Functions include caring for athletic injuries, designing and implementing injury rehabilitation programs, formulating assessments and executing plans of action that best aid student–athletes' health needs and determine student athletes safe return to sport participation.

The role also involves providing athletic training coverage for all home/hosted contests as described by the CCCAA bylaws, administering emergency care and first aid, creating and regularly updating an injury report, ensuring proper equipment use and fitting, and maintaining documents, supplies, and the working environment to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the clinic.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree Athletic Training required
• Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
• Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials:

• Athletic Trainer [State License]
• Vehicle Driver's License Support
• Certified Athletic Trainer [ATC]
• Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)

Experience:

• Experience working as an athletic trainer 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Provide excellent athletic training and student mentoring.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Current Massachusetts driver's license, a safe driving record, and reliable transportation required.

Working Model:

• Onsite at assigned Boston Public School site
• Hours are determined by practice, event, and game schedule
• Some travel to other sites for games or events
