Position: Urgent Care Technician (Per Diem, Multiple Locations)
  • 1. Participates as a frontline caregiver to patients in Urgent Care
  • 2. Provides direct patient care and collects physical, psychological, and social patient data under the Nurse's direction.
  • 3. Assists in direct patient care according to the policy and procedures of Urgent Care. This includes but is not limited to:
    Complete Intake to include vital signs, EKGs, Durable Medical Equipment application, Wound Care, Point of Care Testing, and Ear Irrigations.
  • 4. Is familiar with equipment in the department and the location of all items.
  • 5. Assesses personal and learning development needs. Maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
  • 6. Orient other UC Techs to the unit as assigned by the manager.
  • 7. Performs other work-related tasks and activities as assigned or requested by the manager.
  • 8. Assist with cleaning and preparation of exam rooms as needed including stocking rooms and organization of incoming supplies.
  • 9. May assist in patient registration, intake, and answering phone calls at the center.
  • 10. Perform other work duties as requested.
  • 11. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
  • 1. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • 2. Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
    • a. Currently licensed as a CNA in MA with at least one year of patient care experience
    • b. Currently licensed as an EMT or Paramedic in MA
    • c. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant
    • d. Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program OR Healthcare Track program with at least 2 clinical rotations
    • e. Has 1-3 years of direct patient care experience within an Urgent Care, Physician’s Office, or Healthcare setting.
  • 3. (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification
