Fleet Mechanic - Somerville, MA

Hiring for 1 position

Compensation: $30 - $40/hour

Summary:

Our client is looking for a Fleet Mechanic to join their team in their Somerville, MA location. This individual will be managing the maintenance plan for a fleet of over 50 vehicles. Including but not limited to performing mechanical and electrical repairs on diesel and gasoline powered vehicles. Our client is a full-service environmental management firm. Serving the environmental and hazardous waste needs of clients throughout the east coast in the areas of higher education, healthcare, manufacturing and utilities, and the life sciences, Our client is the industry leader in personalized service and, as the expert in these industries, has become the trusted name.

Number of Positions: (1), This is a day shift position /8 hours shift

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years mechanic experience or mechanical education.
  • Must own all tools necessary to perform required tasks.
  • Valid Class D driver’s license required.
  • Must possess the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and routine repairs.
  • Assist supervisor as needed.
  • External vehicle inspections.
  • Perform airbrake adjustments and repairs (certification required).
  • Perform maintenance on and repair high powered vacuum equipment.
  • Assist supervisor as needed.

Education

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
