Overview
Environmental Health & Safety Manager – Amcor, Somerville, MA. This role contributes to Amcor’s mission to deliver sustainable packaging solutions that safely provide food, medicine, and other products to consumers worldwide. The position is responsible for managing safety compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement in a regulated industrial environment.
ResponsibilitiesAs Manager/Supervisor, you will demonstrate partnership, excellence, growth, and safety. Core responsibilities include:
Education:
BS degree in Industrial Safety Management or equivalent experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other governmental regulations.
Experience:
1–3 years of safety experience in an industrial setting.

- Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to make practical decisions without extensive direction or preparation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other common computer software.
- Mechanical and processing skills.
Regular standing, climbing platforms, bending, stooping, and stretching. Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and work a 12‑hour shift. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision. Accountable for noise levels that may require hearing protection.
Work EnvironmentWork involves changing priorities and exposure to noise, requiring hearing protection. Safety practices are essential for maintaining a safe workplace.
