In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to hospital leadership, HR teams, international faculty, staff, and scholars on complex immigration and visa-related matters. You will manage a diverse caseload, prepare employment-based visa petitions, ensure institutional compliance with federal immigration regulations, and help create a positive experience for international employees and scholars navigating the U.S. immigration process.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining regulatory expertise, relationship management, and problem-solving in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

What You'll Do

* Prepare and manage employment-based visa petitions, including initial filings, transfers, and extensions, using electronic filing systems

* Maintain expertise in immigration regulations related to J, F, H, O, TN, E, and B visa classifications, as well as permanent residency processes

* Monitor and interpret changing immigration regulations, agency guidance, and presidential proclamations to assess organizational impact

* Serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) and support institutional compliance with federal immigration regulations

* Partner closely with HR and operational leadership to address complex immigration-related questions and workforce planning needs

* Lead orientation sessions and educational presentations for newly arrived international staff and scholars

* Support process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience

* Assist in training and mentoring newer team members on immigration processes and best practices

* Represent Mass General Brigham at immigration-related professional forums and industry events

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience advising on employment-based immigration and visa regulations

* Strong working knowledge of USCIS, Department of Labor (DOL), Department of State (DOS), and SEVIS requirements

* U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status required for ARO certification under federal regulations

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively

* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

* High level of attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving ability

* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and departments
