METCO, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented, collaborative, and mission-driven Development & Student Outcomes Manager to support administrative development and research efforts that advance educational equity and integration.

As the nation’s largest voluntary school desegregation program, METCO serves over 3,300 students across 33 suburban school districts. This role is essential to sustaining and growing the organization’s impact by supporting donor engagement, development operations and student impact research.

Reporting to the Director of Development, Development & Student Outcomes Manager plays a key role in crafting compelling proposals, coordinating partnership communications, and managing resource development and reporting systems to ensure efficient and effective development and student outcome metrics.

1. Resource Development & Partnerships

Collaborate with program staff to gather data, stories, and outcomes to develop compelling proposals.

Support the development of multi-year development opportunities and renewal applications.

Track deadlines, submissions, and outcomes to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Maintain quarterly newsletter, in collaboration with Communications Department, to keep resource partners informed of our programs

Maintain and update management software on a regular basis including resource tracking and information, new form creation, and reports

Provide on-site event planning and support as needed

Assist with research, support, tracking, and reporting as needed

Provide administrative support for partnerships in coordination with Director of Development & Partnerships

2. Student Outcomes & Program Evaluation

Analyze and track student outcome data to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of METCO programming, services, and initiatives

Collaborate with program staff and leadership to develop data collection tools, outcome measures, and reporting processes that support continuous program improvement and strategic decision-making.

Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate student achievement trends, program participation, and equity-focused outcomes for internal stakeholders, and Board leadership.

3. Development Coordination & Donor Support

Assist in the coordination of annual campaigns, partnership outreach, and resource development initiatives.

Support stewardship efforts, including acknowledgment letters, reports, and engagement materials.

Help maintain resource records and communications to ensure a high-quality donor experience.

Coordinate logistics for development events, meetings, and engagement activities.

4. CRM & Development Operations

Maintain and update records in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).

Generate reports to support development strategy.

Ensure accurate data entry, gift processing, and resource tracking.

Support database management to strengthen partnership segmentation and engagement.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with program, finance, and leadership teams to align with organizational priorities.

Support the Development team in strengthening relationships with partners.

Assist with preparing materials for Board meetings and development-related communications.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, or development support.

Demonstrated experience writing successful proposals and reports preferred.

Core Competencies

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.

Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

Familiarity with resource databases/CRM system processes.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, English, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with education-focused or equity-driven nonprofit organizations.

Knowledge of grant compliance, evaluation, and reporting processes.

This is a fully in-person work schedule that is responsive to programming needs and expectations that may include some evenings and weekends. Remote time is at CEO discretion.
