Step into a meaningful part-time contract opportunity supporting a vibrant preschool student near Somerville, MA. This role is ideal for experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with a passion for pediatric care in school settings.

You'll work closely with a lively 3-year-old with a tracheostomy (ventilator required when ill)-the student is ambulatory, spirited, and requires attentive, skilled nursing during transit to and from school. The work schedule is onsite every Monday and Friday, with additional options for summer assignments and contract renewal for the next school year.

Key

Qualifications:

• Current MA RN or LPN license in good standing (no CNA or medical assistant applicants, please)
• Previous experience in a school-based nursing role essential
• Comfortable working one-on-one with children who have special medical needs
• Able to complete all required background checks (CORI and fingerprinting)
• Willingness to complete a Zoom interview prior to selection

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous care to a medically complex preschooler on the van ride to and from Blocks pre-school
• Monitor and respond to student's respiratory and health needs, including tracheostomy care and ventilator management when necessary
• Foster a safe, reassuring environment for both student and transportation staff
• Promptly document care and report any health concerns to appropriate parties
