Mass General Brigham Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join an innovative, multidisciplinary team focused on improving outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries undergoing major surgical procedures. This senior‑level APP role blends direct patient care with clinical leadership, supporting geriatric patients undergoing orthopedic, cardiac and major bowel surgery through the full perioperative journey.

In‑person clinical sessions will be based on the selected candidate’s geographic location within the Mass General Brigham footprint. Practice sites include 850 Boylston Street (Chestnut Hill, MA), 55 Fruit Street (Boston, MA), 2014 Washington Street (Newton, MA), with possible future sites at 20 Patriot Place (Foxborough, MA) and 102–104 Endicott Street (Danvers, MA).
SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider responsible for assessing, managing, and providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for diverse patient populations, including surgical and medical conditions, and may precept a small group of learners.
Essential Functions- Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Consistently provides high‑quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Performs bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
Education:
Master’s Degree in Nursing (required). No experience in lieu of a degree will be accepted.
Licenses and Credentials:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN‑NP – State License) – HR Only required.
2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience required (1–2 years preferred).
Additional Job Details- A minimum of five (5) years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required, with experience in Primary Care, inpatient Hospital Medicine, Geriatrics, Perioperative Medicine, or pre‑operative optimization strongly preferred.
